RALEIGH — Chaos in New Orleans grabbed the headlines, but Mississippi actually took a larger hit than Louisiana when Hurricane Katrina slammed the Gulf Coast in 2005. Mississippi residents pulled together as a community and recovered as quickly as possible. Former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour shared that message during a John Locke Foundation Headliner luncheon Wednesday in Raleigh.
