The upcoming presidential election offers candidates of both major parties a chance to stake out real plans for tackling more than $18 trillion in federal debt. The nonpartisan Concord Coalition wants to focus attention on the debt issue as campaign season heats up in the months ahead.

Sara Imhof, director of education and grass-roots advocacy for the Concord Coalition, outlined problems linked to the federal debt during a presentation Monday for the John Locke Foundation’s Shaftesbury Society. In the video clip below, she addressed several myths linked to the debt.
